Emirates Re DIFC, which is registered as a company incorporated under the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre in the United Arab Emirates with License No. CL-1459, announces the transfer of all of its insurance contracts and the potential discontinuation of its operations of its DIFC registered office, which is located in the Emirate of Dubai, together with the transfer of all open liabilities and open balances in its books to Accredited Insurance (Europe) Limited (AIEL), a company incorporated and registered in Malta with Company No. C59505 (Transfer).

The Transfer will be effected by way of a “Transfer Scheme” as set out in Part 9 of the Regulatory Law DIFC Law No.1 of 2004, and is a court approved sale of a financial services business, (which definition includes a reinsurance business) in the DIFC, and is mandatory under DIFC law.

For sake of confirmation, AIEL is a conventional insurer and does not operate a (re)takaful co-operative reinsurance system. The transfer will take place subject to Part 9 of the Regulatory Law DIFC Law No. 1 of 2004.
