Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Jun 2017

Insurance agents and executives in Tunisia are receiving a salary increase averaging 6.8% for the years 2016 and 2017, under a collective agreement signed in April.

The salary pact was signed by the General Secretary of the Tunisian Union of Labour (UGTT), Mr Noureddine Taboubi, President of the Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies (FTUSA), Mr Lassad Zarrouk, FTUSA Executive Director Kamel Chibani, and the General Secretary of the General Federation of Banks and Financial Institutions, Mr Abdel Hamid Jallali.

The agreement covers the period from 1 June 2016 to 31 May 2017 for 2016, and the period from 1 June 2017 to 31 May 2018 for 2017.

The salary increase varies according to the employee’s category and ranges between TND100 (US$40.50) and TND158 per month.

Mr Chibani said that the agreement will benefit about 3,500 executives and agents working in the insurance sector in Tunisia. M
