Qatar: Al Khaleej Takaful posts higher first-half profit on stronger underwriting and investment income

Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Sep 2026

Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance Company (AKTI) has reported an increase in first-half profitability, with shareholders’ net income rising to QAR36.0m ($9.9m) for the six months ended 30 June 2026. This is 9.6% higher than the QAR32.9m posted for the corresponding period last year.

Shareholders’ income benefited from solid investment returns, including income from deposits and sukuk, dividends and rental income. These helped to offset operating expenses.

AKTI, in financial statements lodged with the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE), also revealed that takaful revenues reached QAR274.3m during the first half of the year, up by 7.3% from QAR255.6m in the corresponding period of 2025.

The policyholders’ net results returned to a surplus of QAR1.3m in 1H2026 after posting a deficit of QAR4.0m in the corresponding half in 2025. These were supported by improved takaful service results and stronger net surplus from takaful operations.

Total assets also expanded to QAR967.2m as of 30 June from QAR946.7m at the end of 2025, reflecting continued growth across the group’s operations. M
