Qatar: Al Koot Insurance wins contract from Qatar Airways

Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance, a subsidiary of Gulf International Services (GIS), has won a contract to provide health insurance cover to Qatar Airways’ employees and their families.

In a stock exchange statement, GIS said the health insurance contract is for a two-year period, starting 1 June 2019. With this contract, Al Koot will manage around 140,000 insured members in Qatar.

“Al Koot has reinforced its experienced teams with innovative technological solutions, resulting in acquiring one of the largest networks among insurers in the region, reflecting the strong financial capabilities and technical experience the company has built over more than 15 years of operation,” said CEO Ahmed Rafee Al-Emadi.

Al Koot is developing and diversifying its health insurance services to maintain its position as a leading Qatari company in this field. The insurer has also won competitive tenders to offer healthcare services for Qatar Petroleum and Qatargas’ staff and their families for a three-year period that commenced on 1 January 2019. M
