Scor said it is combining its Paris-London and Zurich-Cologne hubs to create an EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) Hub, to streamline the reinsurance group’s operations in the EMEA region.
The new EMEA Hub aligns shared services with the organisational structure of the two reinsurance divisions, providing a simplified and integrated structure.
The newly created hub will be led by Mr Malcolm Newman as Managing Director, reporting to Mr Romain Launay, Group Chief Operating Officer.
The reinsurer recorded a 13.9% increase in GWP in the first quarter of 2017 to EUR3,739 million (US$4,199 million). This growth came from both life (+12.0% at constant exchange rates), across all product lines, particularly in the Americas and the Asia Pacific, and from P&C (+12.3% at constant exchange rates), leveraging on successful January and April renewals.
