Dubai National Insurance & Reinsurance (DNIR) has signed an MoU with the UAE Cycling Federation (UAECF), a non-profit sports organisation that promotes and encourages cycling in the country. Under the exclusive partnership, DNIR is named the official insurer for all cyclists registered with UAECF.
DNIR CEO Abdulla Al Nuaimi said, “We are delighted to be the exclusive insurer for the UAECF, an organisation focused on developing interest in sports activities among the youth and others in the country. The burgeoning cycling community plays an important role in reducing the country’s carbon footprint and helps enhance public health in line with our ruler’s vision. For this reason, we, at DNIR developed the Pedal Cycle Insurance Program to address specific requirements of avid riders and provide peace of mind to all cyclists.”
The coverage will be mandatory for all cyclists registered under the UAECF. As an exclusive sponsor, DNIR will provide complimentary policies to UAECF cyclists forming the national team. DNIR will also work closely with UAECF in a communication campaign and through its events to promote pedal cycle insurance.
UAECF president Mansoor Juma Buosaiba said, “The safety and well-being of our members are of critical importance to us. For this reason, we signed this partnership with DNIR to better protect our registered members and ensure that cycling is as fun and safe as possible. We believe in having a dedicated cycling insurance policy to serve as a safety net for avid cyclists. Having a layer of protection from a reliable source will enhance the peace of mind during every ride.” M
