The motor branch was the main driver of this performance, generating a technical surplus of TND24.4m on its own. Conversely, the Group and Miscellaneous Risks divisions continued to weigh heavily on the overall profitability of the segment, with negative technical results of TND10.5m and TND5.7m respectively.
The life branch's technical result fell 18.3% year on year to TND9.5m in 1H2026. This decline, despite higher premium collection, reflects pressure on margins or an increase in technical provisions for this activity. STAR said in its interim financial report that it was establishing its subsidiary specialised in the marketing of life insurance products.
