The Turkish insurance sector generated total premiums of TRY744bn ($15.8bn) in the first six months of this year, a 29% increase compared to the corresponding half of last year, according to data compiled by the Insurance Association of Turkiye (TSB).
Premium production continued to increase in both the life and non-life branches. While non-life branches accounted for the majority of production, life insurance also continued its strong growth.
According to the data, non-life insurance grew by 26.2% year on year to TRY629bn, contributing 75% of the total market. Life insurance premiums amounted to TRY115bn, rising by 46.2% year on year.
The year-on-year inflation rate in Turkiye ranged from 30.65% in January to 32.11% in June 2026, peaking at 32.61% in May, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute.
