African Risk Capacity (ARC) has confirmed the appointment of Mr David Maslo as its CEO. He originally led ARC as Interim CEO.
As CEO, Mr Maslo leads ARC at a time when African countries face growing climate-related shocks, agriculture and food security challenges, public health emergencies and other catastrophic risks, the company said in a LinkedIn post.
His focus is on advancing the insurer’s transformation, expanding innovative risk financing solutions, deepening partnerships, as well as helping African governments and eligible entities better anticipate, prepare for and respond to disasters before they become humanitarian crises.
As Interim CEO, Mr Maslo delivered the parametric insurer’s strongest financial performance since inception, expanded its multi-peril offering through the roll-out of sovereign flood insurance and launched its retakaful facility, among others.
Mr Maslo brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience across Africa and the global insurance sector, with extensive expertise in climate and disaster risk financing in both Africa and the Caribbean.
