Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company (BKIC), also known as GIG Bahrain, has announced the promotion of Mr Mohamed Salah AlMeraj to the position of General Manager - Bahrain Operations, with effect from 1 January 2026.
BKIC said in a statement, “This strategic advancement reflects the Company’s commitment to empowering national talent and reinforcing its leadership team with experienced and proven professionals.
“Mr Al-Meraj brings over a decade of extensive experience in the insurance sector, having held several managerial and executive roles throughout his career. His strong leadership, industry knowledge, and results-driven approach have been instrumental in supporting the Company’s operational excellence and strategic growth.”
Mr Al-Meraj was appointed as COO on 6 April 2025. He holds several academic and professional qualifications, including a Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) from The Institutes. He is also a graduate of the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
