Middle East Insurance Review (MEIR), in solidarity with the insurance market, has started a special series named "Middle East Conflict: The MEIR Dialogue" to discuss the insurance impact of the armed confrontation across MENA as well as globally. The series continues with an interview with Zurich Insurance Senior Executive Officer for Commercial Insurance Middle East Peter Englund.
In this interview, Mr Englund discusses the long-term implications for the insurance industry as a result of the US-Iran conflict, the role that insurers have to play in improving resilience within the region, and the structural and strategic changes that are likely to occur.
He also talked about some of the lesser known impacts of the conflict, such environmental hazards from ships being attacked in the waters around the Strait of Hormuz.
