The Insurance Federation of Egypt has signed four cooperation protocols, aimed at spreading insurance awareness and increasing distribution.
Mr Alaa El-Zoheiry, IFE president, said that the first protocol was signed with the Federation of Egyptian Industries.
According to local media reports, the goal of this is to develop mechanisms to unify the efforts of the Federation of Egyptian Industries and the IFE to provide the necessary technical support to reduce the effects of the risks that Egyptian industries could be exposed to, by providing insurance coverage and sharing insurance information that the industrial sector may need.
Mr El-Zoheiry said that this protocol would provide insurance companies with information that would enable them to properly design insurance coverage and more accurately underwrite the various risks related to this sector.
The cooperation between the two sides also includes identifying and developing available opportunities, working to achieve sustainable local and regional development, and supporting micro and small enterprises.
A protocol was signed too with the National Post Authority, with the aim of diversifying insurance distribution channels to reach small and micro-enterprises, individuals and families, spreading insurance awareness and promoting community development.
Fire and burns
Two protocols were signed with a foundation to raise awareness of the dangers of fire and burns.
The first of these two protocols covers a series of awareness workshops in places most prone to burn accidents, which are areas where craft and industrial workshops are located, with the focus on workshop owners and their workers. The cooperation extends to spreading risk awareness among children through attractive, interactive and easy tools. The second protocol covers increasing awareness of insurance against fire risks.
