Dr Islam Azzam, the newly-appointed Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), has stressed the need to accelerate the pace of digital transformation in insurance and other non-banking financial services, expand financial inclusion and continue developing the legislative and regulatory environment for the sector.
He made this call when he presided over the first meeting of the FRA’s board of directors after assuming his duties as Chairman of the Authority. The meeting conducted a comprehensive review of the priorities of supervisory and regulatory work for the non-banking financial sector, reported Amwal Alghad.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued a decree appointing Dr Azzam as FRA chairman with effect from 4 March 2026.
