Cameroonian Eric Rochereau Kouaghu Tchuisseu has been appointed the Secretary General of the Inter-African Conference of Insurance Markets (CIMA), the regulatory body for the insuance sector of 14 Central and West African countries.
Mr Tchuisseu will officially take office on 1 April 2026, in Libreville, the headquarters of the CIMA, where he will succeed his compatriot Mr Blaise Abel Ezo'o Engolo, whose term is ending. Mr Engolo had held the position since 2021.
Before his appointment by CIMA, Mr Tchuisseu worked at the national insurance directorate of the Cameroonian Ministry of Finance. There, he successively held the positions of assistant research officer, then head of the insurance and related affairs inspection department.
CIMA oversees the insurance markets of six Central African countries — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea — and eight West African countries — Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
