Takaful operations in Morocco generated a total contribution volume of MAD66m in the first half of 2025, jumping by 51.4% compared to the corresponding half of 2024, according to the Insurance and Social Security Supervisory Authority (ACAPS).
In its “Situation in the insurance and reinsurance sector – 1H2025” report, ACAPS also showed that the family takaful branch, encompassing death and investment takaful insurance, dominated takaful activity, representing 90.6% of total contributions.
Takaful operators paid a total of MAD27.4m in claims and expenses in 1H2025, more than double the MAD13.5m reported for 1H2024. The family takaful branch accounted for MAD25.7m of the total claims and expenses in 1H2025.
