Earned contributions in Egypt reached EGP777m ($41.5m) in the first four months of 2022 against EGP306.7m in the same period of the previous year, a 153.3% increase, according to the monthly report of the Financial Regulatory Authority.
Conventional insurers’ earned premiums, on the other hand, registered a decrease of 1.7% as they reached EGP3.65bn against EGP3.7bn.
Takaful operators’ paid claims for the same period grew by 20.4% to EGP208m from EGP173m. For conventional insurers, paid claims for the first four months of 2022 reached EGP1.45bn versus EGP1.35bn in the same period of the past year, a 7.3% increase. M
