Mena News - Turkey's Isvicre Sigorta Acquired by German Giant

Istanbul-based Isvicre, reportedly the fifth biggest property and accident insurer in Turkey, has a new shareholder, Ergo Insurance.
 
Ergo, the direct insurance arm of the German reinsurance group, Munich Re, purchased 75% of Isvicre from the Balci family which continues to hold 25% of the Turkish insurer.
 
In 2005, Isvicre’s premium revenue stood at about 290m euros (US$369.82 million), nearly 90% of which was from property and accident insurance.
