COVID-19 heightens challenges Bahraini insurers face

While the large-sized Bahraini insurers have good solvency buffers to absorb the current financial market shock, there is concern as to how insurers with lower solvency levels will cope with additional stresses in the short term, particularly if there were to be a second wave of the pandemic later in the year, say Messrs Luca Patron and Ghislain Le Cam of AM Best.
