A total of 45 insurers, reinsurers, brokers, risk managers, service providers and industry leaders have made it to the finals of the 6th Middle East Insurance Industry Awards (MIIA), edging out more than 300 other entries in the first round of judging.

The finalists were shortlisted by a panel of 19 judges comprising CEOs, senior executives, association heads and industry experts.

“I’m heartened to note that despite the ongoing challenges that industry players are facing in the region, many have remained resilient and continue to step up to the plate – whether in regard to setting new standards in technology, redefining their business model or transforming the organisational culture,” said Middle East Insurance Review (MEIR) editor-in-chief Sivam Subramaniam.

“The quality of entries that we received this year shows that the insurance industry in the MENA region is still going strong, and many companies are forging ahead in their drive for excellence. I look forward to revealing the winners in November.”

The final round of judging took place on 1 October in Dubai, where judges deliberated the merits of each finalist and selected the winners by secret ballot. The winners will be announced at the Awards Presentation Gala Dinner on 21 November at Conrad Dubai.

Now in its sixth year, the Awards recognise and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and companies in the insurance sector across the MENA region. The Awards, organised by MEIR, aim to boost standards and promote greater professionalism in the market. The award process offers utmost transparency, with clearly defined criteria and judging requirements. Over 60 individuals and companies have received the coveted awards since they were first launched in 2014. M
