Middle East News - Qatar: QIC launches new website for personal lines

Qatar Insurance Company (QIC), one of the largest insurance companies in the MENA region, has launched a “one-stop online solution” to make the experience of buying personal insurance services easier and hassle-free.
The new online platform is branded as “QIC Insured” and comes with a new logo. The announcement was made at a press conference at the company’s headquarters in Doha recently, reported The Peninsula newspaper.
“We have realised that changing the logo and rebranding our personal lines will help us to position ourselves against our international competitors,” said Mr Fredrik Bisbjerg, Executive Vice President at QIC Insured.
Mr Bisbjerg, who is also the Head of Group Retail business, said that even customers with other insurance providers will be able to switch to QIC Insured in a very smooth manner.
“There is no need to go anywhere for the inspection of vehicles. We have a lot of advanced tools that can do the job from ‘quote-to-claim’ online without any hassle.”
However, he said that the company will continue to have its branches for customers. He also said that QIC has increased the capacity in its call centres significantly to address personal queries.
Mr Salem Al Mannai, Deputy Group President and CEO at QIC Insured (MENA region), added: “Building on our vast experience with personal lines from the last 50 years, we introduced online sales of personal insurance products two years ago, which from the very inception have been a great success. We’re now ready to build on those experiences and radically change our service offerings and our brand positioning.”
