Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Mar 2016

Bahrain-headquartered Trust Re has said that since February, its service offering has expanded to include aviation facultative reinsurance, focusing on areas where the company already operates, namely the Afro-Asian markets. These include the MENA region, Russia, Central and Eastern European countries, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, Cyprus and Turkey.

The new aviation department is headed by Mr Wayne Murphy, who brings with him 24 years of experience in the global aviation insurance market, encompassing the Lloyd’s and London companies’ markets.

The lines of business underwritten by the department will include airlines, general aviation, airports & airport service providers, as well as manufacturers of aviation products. The capacity available will be US$10 million for hull and $50 million for liability.

Mr Fadi Abunahl, CEO of Trust Re said: “Diversifying our service offering to include Aviation Reinsurance underlines our commitment to ensuring that we deliver products and services that meet customers’ requirements.”
