Takaful News - Pakistan: Takaful Products for Pilgrims

Pak-Kuwait Takaful and Polani Group have signed an agreement to offer Shariah-compliant Umrah and Hajj travel takaful-interest free insurance, with the Polani Group acting as General Sales Agent for Pakistan.

The package will cover death, disability, loss of baggage and loss of passport, of intending Hajis and Zaireens.

Mr Yahya Polani, Chairman of the Polani Group, identifies several markets where the product will be sold. They are Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala and Islamabad. Following the launch of the product in Pakistan, the company will target Western countries.

He suggested that the government should make it mandatory for intending Hajis and Zaireens to take up such insurance.
