Qatari Islamic Insurance Group (QIIG) has obtained obtained a licence from the authorities of the International Financial Services Centre in Gift City in Gujarat City to open a branch in India.
The branch will undertake reinsurance business, the company said in a statement filed with the Qatar Stock Exchange.
QIIG, a market-leading takaful player in Qatar, currently has an international presence through strategic investments in takaful companies across Pakistan, Syria, and Morocco.
