The Insurers Federation of Egypt (IFE) has set out the work strategy of its technical committees for 2026, including several main tasks.
The work strategy of the technical committees is based on three main axes, the foremost of which is developing the insurance market by consolidating sound technical concepts for insurance operations, reported Amwal Alghad.
The second axis focuses on updating previous insurance studies and preparing new studies consistent with the needs of the insurance market and contributing to their activation through the relevant agencies and bodies, while the third axis aims to increase insurance awareness and support the industry.
The work strategy of the technical committees also includes issuing a bulletin on current topics, which contributes to the exchange of knowledge and experience and keeping up with the latest technical and technological developments in the sector.
The committees will also:
-
address common technical problems faced by insurance companies and propose practical solutions
-
develop insurance policies in line with market developments
-
promote digital transformation
-
monitor reports issued by the Financial Regulatory Authority
-
analyse data related to the relevant insurance branch, to support the development of technical practices in the market
-
develop human resources and raise the efficiency of employees in the sector
-
organise specialised workshops and seminars to raise efficiency and to deliberate new products and modern technology applications related to the relevant insurance branch.
-
employ modern technology to raise the efficiency of the branch concerned with each committee, to keep pace with the rapid developments in the market.
Earlier this month, the IFE announced the restructuring of its technical committees for the new 2026 term. The technical committees consist of a select group of experts and specialists from insurance and reinsurance companies operating in the Egyptian market. New technical committees formed by the IFE include those for Agriculture, Cyber, Compensation and Loss Prevention, and Investment and Savings.
The Federation also effected the following mergers of committees:
-
group life insurance with personal insurance committees to form the Life Insurance Committee,
-
life reinsurance and property reinsurance committees into a single committee called the Reinsurance Committee.
Following the revamp, the IFE now has 19 technical committees covering various insurance areas, namely:
-
insurance awareness
-
governance, compliance and enterprise risks
-
medical insurance
-
digitalisation and information technology
-
microinsurance
