The Moroccan Insurance Federation (FMA) is pushing forward with the sector's digital transformation following a 4 December 2025 meeting with insurers and reinsurers to advance the rollout of a multi-channel premium payment system.
The meeting reviewed progress on the payment platform for motor insurance premiums and road assistance fees, particularly through electronic payment channels, according to a report by the news platform LesEco.
Participants assessed the modules already in operation and agreed on a unified timeline for upcoming phases to ensure a clear roadmap and smooth implementation.
Insurers raised several technical and organisational considerations, noting that the multi-channel approach—which includes mobile payments, bank cards and other digital methods—responds to the growing need to digitise premium collection in Morocco’s expanding insurance market. They said the system will expedite financial flows and reduce friction for both policyholders and intermediaries.
Described as constructive, the discussions strengthened coordination among stakeholders working to modernise insurance transactions nationwide.
Next steps include fast-tracking the agreed improvements and conducting regular follow-ups to ensure effective, countrywide deployment.
