Kuwait: Regulator warns insurers against bargaining over motor claim payouts

The Insurance Regulatory Unit (IRU) has urged insurance companies operating in the local market to settle claim payments arising from traffic accidents fairly and without any bargaining with claimants.
The unit confirms that companies are prohibited from asking insured parties involved in vehicle accidents to produce a certificate of non-payment of compensation.
Accordingly, insurers must contact other concerned insurance companies directly to ensure that compensation has not been paid for the claim in question and without calculating any amounts for it.
