MENA: Expertise and advice capability rated highly in picking reinsurance brokers

Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Nov 2023

More than half (55%) of respondents to a regional survey on selecting a reinsurance broker for treaty placements said that know-how and the ability to advise the insurer about reinsurance structures are their top two criteria in making their choice.

The poll is part of the ‘Ask the CEO’ series of surveys conducted by Bermuda-based broker LINK.
Other findings of the 2023 poll include:
  • Analytical and pricing capabilities follow in importance, as well as the ability to source favourable reinsurance conditions, each scoring 28% of respondents
  • Responses were generally spread over the various criteria proposed in the poll, except for the UAE where responses were concentrated over a limited number of answers
The poll is an initiative in which leaders representing around 40 insurers in the MENA region, participate. M
