Palestine: Authority starts 7-month insurance awareness drive

Palestine’s Capital Market Authority (CMA) has launched a comprehensive insurance awareness campaign in line with the strategy of the Authority to promote the insurance sector.

The comprehensive campaign will last for seven months and covers all governorates in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, said Mr Buraq Al Nabulsi, CMA director general at a media conference. The campaign targets all segments of Palestinian society, reported Al Watan Voice.

Mr Nabulsi said the CMA attaches particular importance to the Palestinian insurance sector because of its direct impact on the life of the Palestinian citizen through the protection provided by insurance products and their role in reducing material and economic losses.

He also emphasised the Authority’s work in creating the conditions necessary for citizens to benefit from the insurance services provided. For example, the CMA has acted in the areas of health insurance and motorbike insurance.

The CMA seeks to find suitable ground for providing an appropriate insurance service for motorcycle insurance in proportion to the risk faced, thus providing appropriate protection for riders without exorbitant premiums or low compensation.

The campaign uses a variety of media modes, such as radio flashes, cartoons, educational videos, and social media platforms. M
