Takaful International Company (TAKAFUL) reported net profit of the shareholders before tax of BHD481,000 ($1.28m) for the first quarter of 2025, a 22% increase from the same period in the previous year.
Net profit of the shareholders after tax was BHD422,000 for 1Q2025 versus BHD393,000 for the same period in the previous year. Comparatively, earnings per share for 1Q2025 increased to BHD4.96 fils from BHD4.62 fils for the same period in the previous year. The comprehensive income in 1Q2025 reached BHD442,000, an increase of 28% compared to BHD345,000 for the same period in the previous year.
The company reported total net profit before tax of BHD639K during the first quarter of the year compared to BHD546,000 in 1Q2024, an increase of 17%. The improved performance of the company is attributed to the increase in income from investments and insurance operations during the quarter.
The shareholders’ fund achieved a profit before tax of BHD481,000 during the first quarter of 2025, compared to BHD393,000 for the same period of the previous year, an increase of 22%. Takaful funds achieved a surplus before tax of BHD158,000 in 1Q2025 against BHD153,000 for the same period of the previous year, an increase of 3%.
Recognised takaful contributions amounted to BHD6.84m in 1Q2025, compared to BHD5.89m in the same period of the previous year, an increase of 16%. Recognised takaful costs were BHD5.73m during the first quarter of 2025, compared to BHD4.71m in the same period of the previous year, an increase of 22%.
The company’s shareholders’ equity amounted to BHD12.06m as of 31 March 2025, compared to BHD12.68m as of 31 December 2024, a drop of 5%.Total assets rose by 6% from BHD43.83m as of 31 December 2024, to BHD46.62m as of 31 March 2025. M
