Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Oct 2018

A total of 44 insurers, brokers, risk managers, service providers and industry leaders have made it to the finals of the 5th Middle East Insurance Industry Awards (MIIA) 2018, lauded as the premier awards of the MENA region. They edged out more than 300 other entries in the first round of judging with some 15 judges drawn from the leaders of the region.

The finalists comprise many determined players who stand tall and are making a difference in the market. The next and final round of judging will be on 8 October, where the judges will meet face-to-face to discuss the merits of each finalist. The winners will be selected through a secret ballot. The process will be audited by EY and the winners will be announced at the Awards Presentation Gala Dinner to be held on 26 November at the Conrad Dubai.

This year’s MIIA has 15 categories, including the Digital Insurer of the Year – a new category introduced to keep up with the disruptive technology era.

The MIIA, organised by Middle East Insurance Review (MEIR), was launched in 2014 to recognise and salute excellence in the MENA insurance industry, helping to boost standards and promote greater professionalism in the market. The MIIA is lauded for its well-defined criteria, the integrity of the judges and its transparent selection process. The results are independently audited. Now in its fifth year, the MIIA has awarded some 60 individuals and companies for their various contributions to the industry. M
