Jordan: Apex holds workshop on cyber risks and financial lines

As part of its activities to update clients on recent developments in the insurance industry, Jordan-based insurance and reinsurance broker Apex Insurance organised a workshop in March to address the latest trends in cyber and financial insurance protection covers.
Apex Insurance CEO Zuhair Al-Atout said these topics are gaining greater importance because internet-based and electronic services are becoming a major means of addressing customers’ needs, hence, cyber threats are mounting across the world and should be considered in emerging markets as well.
He said the workshop aims at promoting awareness about best practices in the field of cyber and financial risks for insurers and other financial institutions in the region.
Mr Majed Smairat, Chairman of Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF) said the workshop sheds light on methods of dealing with the current and future needs of insurance coverage in areas gaining larger exposure, especially in the financial fields.
The workshop included speakers from international organisations such as AIG, Allianz, CFC Underwriting, Lloyd’s and others. The event was attended by around 200 delegates from various markets in MENA, Africa and other countries from the insurance, banking and healthcare industries as well as other interested parties.
