Morocco: Online insurance platform launched

Source: Middle East Insurance Review | May 2017

Moroccan insurer Sanad has partnered Swiss wholly online insurance broker, Helvetica Assurances, to offer its services on an online platform where insurance can be purchased and claims lodged.

Currently, auto insurance is available online through the platform operated by Helvetica Assurances Morocco. The platform started business in late March.

Created in 2015 by the merger of Swiss Quality Holding Morocco and Ben’s Holding, Helvetica Assurances Morocco is positioning itself as the next-generation broker offering its customers a tailor-made service that is fast, easily accessible and offering the best rates.

Around 2,700 hours were spent and more than 80,000 calculations made to develop a computer system capable of offering insurance products tailored to the specific needs of the Moroccan market.

On the basis of information provided by the customer, the platform proposes to the latter a choice of insurance packages. After the customer selects a package, he sends via the online platform copies of personal documentation to the insurer. The customer then chooses the payment option that suits him and proceeds to payment for his insurance policy. Once the payment is made, he receives the insurance policy.

To lodge a claim, he logs in on the platform, enters the references requested for identification, fills out a form and sends by email the documentation or items requested, scanned or photographed. The claim is processed within 48 hours. M
