UAE: Marsh staff mourn Ronny Vellekoop

Marsh staff are mourning the passing of their colleague, Ronny Vellekoop.

Highly regarded by his industry peers as a pioneer of captive insurance, Mr Vellekoop brought the concept of a captive insurance vehicle to the Middle East and dedicated over 17 years of his career to leading Marsh’s captive insurance business in the UAE.

A tribute from his colleagues reads, “Ronny was much loved not only by his colleagues but also by Marsh’s clients and everyone he interacted with. Joining Marsh in 2007, Ronny became more than just a colleague to many of us - he became a true friend.

“His enthusiasm, sense of purpose, and indomitable spirit were legendary, but it was his friendliness, collaboration, and compassion for others that will be remembered by all.

“Our thoughts are with Ronny’s family at this time.”
