GCC: Two senior executives announce departure 
Mr Abdallah Badaoui has stepped down from his role as CEO of Oman Re on 6 October after spending almost three and a half years with the company. Mr Badaoui previously spent more than 10 years in BEST RE, first as the General Manager of Africa and subsequently as General Manager of its Middle East & Gulf region.
 
   Separately, Mr Fadi Al Khatib has resigned as General Manager of Bahrain-based Al Ahlia Insurance effective 13 October, citing personal reasons for his departure. He was appointed to the role in December 2012 and was previously Manager of Bahrain branch at Arabia Insurance Company. 
 
   There is no announcement on immediate replacement for both roles.
 
 
CCR names Senior Underwriter, Life Treaties for Maghreb & Middle East
CCR Re, which will begin operations in January 2017, has appointed Mr Bo Werkstrom as Senior Underwriter, Life Treaties for the Maghreb & Middle East countries. 
 
   Mr Werkstrom, aged 45, started his professional career in 1997 with Hannover Rückversicherung AG in Paris as Commercial Actuary, before becoming Life Underwriter. In 2007, he moved to Dubai where he worked successively for ALICO MEASA as GMD Regional Credit Life Underwriter & Business Development Manager (until 2008), Assicurazioni Generali as Senior Actuary (until 2011), Oman Insurance Company as Executive Vice President / Head of Life & Medical, and MSH International (until 2014). Since 2015 he was Head of Life/Actuarial for Sicura Fortuna.
 
   CCR Re is the newly established subsidiary of CCR (Caisse Centrale de Réassurance) dedicated to the open market activities of CCR group. As announced at The International “Rendez-vous de septembre” in Monte Carlo, the open market book of CCR will be transferred to CCR Re.
 
 
Bahrain: New appointments at Trust Re
Trust Re has appointed of Mr Constantinos Hadjigeorgiou as Group Corporate Services Officer (CSO) at Trust Re, effective 1 October 2016. Reporting to Group CEO Fadi AbuNahl, the Group CSO is charged with implementing the means necessary to execute strategic development, reinforce operational excellence and provide the Group’s business entities with the support that they need. With this, Mr Hadjigeorgiou also joins Trust Re’s Executive Council.  
 
   Mr Hadjigeorgiou, a Cypriot national, joined Trust Re in October 2011 and was previously Head of Planning and Performance Management.  
 
   Mr Hadjigeorgiou has acquired over 18 years of international experience in insurance/reinsurance, strategy, advisory and project management roles. He has a proven ability to drive organisations to achieve business process improvement and institutional strengthening by engaging with, and educating, multicultural and multidisciplinary teams at all levels. 
 
   Separately, Trust Re has appointed Dr Cherif Chentir as an independent non-executive Director, effective September 2016 for a full 3-year term. 
 
   Dr Cherif brings a wealth of knowledge to the reinsurer’s Boardroom, having gained over 28 years’ experience working for SCOR and Hannover Re, covering Europe and the MENA region. In addition, the Board approved the appointment of Dr Cherif to the Audit and Risk committees where he will leverage his extensive technical knowledge to examine, validate and ratify the key underlying issues of the business.
 
   Dr Cherif’s appointment is consistent with the company’s long-term aim of maintaining a very active and effective board of directors populated by a diverse group of industry leaders, subject experts and individuals with stellar reputation. 
 
 
Solidarity Saudi Takaful gets new CEO 
Solidarity Saudi Takaful has appointed Mr Badr bin Khalid Al Anzi as CEO. He takes over from Mr Jerais Abdulaziz Al-Jeraisy, who was appointed until 31 October 2016. 
 
   The board has also appointed Mr Khaled Janahi as Chairman and Mr Abdul Elah Al Qasimi as Vice Chairman.
