Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Oct 2016

Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) has announced that it is extending exclusive pricing on personal insurance offerings to members of the General Retirement & Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA).

GRSIA members can get a 25% discount on comprehensive car insurance for vehicles (saloon, pick-ups, four-wheel drive) with additional benefits such as roadside assistance in the GCC (Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE), annual pick-up and drop-off for vehicle inspection and registration, pick-up and drop-off for routine maintenance, annual drop-off at the Hamad International Airport and a three-day courtesy car service.

To add an element of convenience, QIC will also be offering Insurance on Call – a recently launched service whereby a personal insurance specialist will visit the customer and assist in selecting the right cover and issue a policy on the spot.

QIC has extended the special 25% discount for home, travel and boat insurance. For Third Party Liability (TPL) insurance, members can avail themselves of a 10% discount. GRSIA members can visit the Authority’s website to avail themselves of the special discounts.

GRSIA administers Qatar’s pension system which is open to employees in government ministries, agencies, public institutions, joint stock companies and others as determined by the Council of Ministers. The Authority is responsible for providing social protection to retired Qatari nationals, and their family members in case of the latter’s demise, by allocating pensions in accordance with the provisions of the Retirement and Pension Law.
