Sharjah Health Authority (SHA) and South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare have signed a cooperation agreement to study and recommend Korean medical specialties, including any successful paediatric oncology centres.
Under the deal, the two entities will also introduce best practices from the Korean health insurance scheme to the SHA’s health insurance system.
The agreement is an extension of the earlier MoU signed between the two entities in February 2014 to strengthen cooperation in 13 healthcare areas.
As part of this agreement and the earlier one signed, both parties will exchange healthcare delegations, training and information and publications about public health and related laws and regulations on a regular basis. Experts will also be exchanged according to the priorities of the respective parties.
Conferences and forums will also be held and organised as part of the agreement to exchange views on healthcare between healthcare providers in each country. Access to healthcare services to citizens from each country will be facilitated and reciprocated.
