Palestine:Insurance federation promotes industry modernisation

| 05 Jul 2026

The Palestinian Insurance Federation (PIF) says that it has continued to implement its developmental plans and enhance its role representing Palestinian insurance companies, in a comprehensive review of its work in 2025.

Among various efforts, the PIF placed special emphasis on supporting electronic payments in the insurance sector, in keeping pace with financial and technological developments, contributing to enhancing operational efficiency, improving cash flow for member companies, and reducing the risks associated with cash transactions, reported Sada News Agency.

Beyond operational matters, the federation followed up on a number of important legislative and regulatory initiatives in coordination with the Capital Market Authority and relevant entities, including proposals that covered compulsory vehicle insurance and the draft insurance law.

In terms of governance and institutional development, the PIF completed the establishment of its internal systems, a move aimed at institutionalising its work, embedding the principles of governance and transparency, and elevating the federation’s performance.

Throughout 2025, PIF’s specialised committees held meetings to discuss a range of priority issues for the sector, including the pricing of electric vehicle insurance, judicial rulings, and medical committees.

Continuing its capacity-building efforts, the PIF conducted a training workshop on artificial intelligence in the insurance industry in cooperation with the Jordanian Insurance Federation, to help employees of member companies keep pace with digital and technological transformations in the sector.

The PIF participated in several regional and international conferences and events organised by the General Arab Insurance Federation and the Jordanian and Egyptian insurance federations, which opened up horizons for cooperation and the exchange of experiences.

The PIF board has proposed to house the federation’s offices in its own dedicated building, which will enhance its institutional presence and reflect its vision for developing the Palestinian insurance industry.
