| 16 Jun 2026

The state-owned Caisse Nationale de Mutualite Agricole (CNMA, National Agricultural Mutual Fund) has posted positive financial results for 2025, with an improvement in the performance of its various insurance branches.

Net profit amounted to around DZD2bn ($15m) in 2025, compared to DZD1.2bn posted in 2024. The company also saw a 12% year-on-year increase in turnover to DZD15.2bn in 2025, reported Algeria Press Service, citing the company’s annual financial statements. In addition, CNMA paid claims amounting to DZD8.1bn in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 17%.

The favourable results can be explained by the positive performance of the different segments of agricultural insurance, with crop insurance recording a growth of 7%, while the animal husbandry branch expanded by 10%, the report said.

CNMA reiterated its commitment to “continuing to support the agricultural and rural world, in accordance with national guidelines aimed at modernising the agricultural sector, securing agricultural investments and strengthening national food sovereignty". It will also continue to implement its strategy of diversifying its activities in a studied manner by moving towards promising sectors, including agri-food processing industries, transport and various economic activities, in order to strengthen its financial position and support its sustainable growth.
