Liberty Specialty Markets, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Mr Ed Louth as Head of Aviation. In his new role, Mr Louth will have overall responsibility for underwriting strategy and performance.
Mr Louth brings 26 years of London market experience to Liberty. Prior to his new role, he was Head of Broking, Global aviation and space at Willis.
Mr Louth succeeds Mr Miles Taffs, who became Interim Head of Aviation in September 2025. Mr Taffs will remain with Liberty to ensure a smooth transition and support the aviation team, while continuing to underwrite and manage accounts and market relationships, until he is due to retire on 1 October 2026.
