Turkiye:Year-end sales blitz pushes car insurance rates to 10-year low

| 02 Dec 2025

Insurers are stepping up their car insurance campaigns to boost both the number of policyholders and premium revenue, as 2025 draws to a close.

Motor insurers are introducing a range of new car insurance products while also cutting premiums. Vehicles that were previously ineligible for coverage, because they are aged 10–15 years, are now being insured in special year-end campaigns, reported the local news organsiation Bigpara.

Insurers report that car insurance prices are currently at their lowest in a decade and say that now is an ideal time to buy a policy. However, they caution that this trend may not last, with prices expected to rise in the first quarter of next year.

These initiatives have pushed car insurance rates below those of traffic insurance (motor third-party liability insurance). A few years ago, traffic insurance was cheaper than car insurance, but the trend has now reversed, with traffic insurance more expensive and car insurance more affordable.
