With profound sadness, Muscat Insurance Company announced the passing of their CEO, Mr Steven John Samson, on 23 November 2025.
Mr Samson had been announced as CEO of the company, effective 5 October 2025. He brought with him more than 45 years of extensive experience in the global insurance and risk management sector, having held senior leadership positions across London, the middle East, and the GCC.
Mr Samson’s career spanned key roles in underwriting, broking, reinsurance and strategic advisory, establishing new operations and driving sustainable profitability. He had also served in senior capacities including General Manager at Al Futtaim Willis Bahrain, Executive Director at Insure Direct, Regional Manager at Arthur J. Gallagher and Executive Director of AON UK Cargo Division.
Before taking on the role of CEO at Muscat Insurance Company, he was CEO of RSW Insurance Risk Consultants.
Mr Samson was an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Chartered Insurance Broker.
The Board of Muscat Insurance Company has appointed Mr Syed Zaheerullah Hussaini as the Acting CEO for the interim period until the company finalises the appointment of a new CEO.
