StarHealth Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Star Assurance Group, has officially launched operations in Ghana after three years of groundwork.

Licensed by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), the new insurer provides health insurance solutions for individuals, families, SMEs, and large corporations. Its insurance plans cover outpatient and inpatient care, specialist consultations, maternity, preventive healthcare, chronic care, employee assistance programmes, and wellness benefits such as access to gyms and nutrition clubs.

Mr Ronald Oppong Adom, CEO of StarHealth Insurance Ghana, said that the company had served over 1,289 households across 168 provider locations, with healthcare claims exceeding GHS7m ($560,000), reported Accra Street Journal.

He added, “Our mission is to break barriers such as high costs and limited coverage, ensuring families and businesses access dependable care whenever they need it most.”

StarHealth Insurance is a licensed private commercial health insurer under the Accra-headquartered Star Assurance Group, which also includes StarLife Assurance, Star Assurance ( a general insurer) and Star Microinsurance Services.
