Oman:Combined half-year net results of listed insurers turn around

The combined net profits of eight listed insurance companies in Oman reached OMR17.8m ($46.3m) in 1H2025, from a net loss of OMR10.6m in 1H2024, according to Badri Management Consultancy, an international actuarial and risk consulting firm.

In its “Listed Insurance Industry Performance Analysis – H1 2025” report, Badri says that all the listed insurers reported an increase in profits in the first six months of this year compared to 1H2024.

Excluding LIVA (OMR8.8m net profit in 1H2025), the combined profitability of the other listed insurers for 1H2025 jumped by 67% year on year to OMR9m.

The combined insurance revenue of eight listed insurance companies showed a 12% increase to OMR348m ($905m) in the first half of 2025 compared to OMR312m in 1H2024.

The leading three companies posted a 16% increase in insurance revenue collectively, rising to OMR271m in 1H2025 from OMR235m in the corresponding period in 2024.

Excluding LIVA, the insurance revenue of the listed insurers for 1H2025 reflected a 1% decrease (from OMR155m in 1H2024 to OMR154m in 1H2025).

Badri’s analysis of the financial performance of the insurers is based on the preliminary interim results of the companies.
