Egypt:Medical, fire, and compulsory motor continue to lead P&C market

The medical insurance branch continued to top the property and casualty insurance sector in 2025 with premiums amounting to EGP19.83bn, followed by fire insurance with EGP15.34bn and comprehensive motor insurance with EGP12.78bn, according to the 2025 annual report issued by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA).

The Top Three lineup in 2025 mirrors that in 2024.

The fastest-growing segments in 2025 were credit insurance (+44.8%), compulsory motor insurance (+36.9%) and fire insurance (+30.4%).

The data showed that total premiums underwritten in the property and liability insurance branch rose to EGP77.71bn during 2025, 19.2% higher compared to EGP64.61bn in 2024, supported by an increase in direct premiums to EGP71.34bn compared to EGP59.68bn, in addition to an increase in premiums received from domestic and foreign reinsurance operations to EGP5.67bn compared to EGP4.93bn.
