Dubai Police have issued a warning to the public about the growing risk of falling victim to fraudulent insurance companies and offices, urging individuals to verify licences and documentation before making any payments.
As part of the ongoing #BewareofFraud campaign, Dubai Police highlighted that unlicensed entities are increasingly active on social media platforms, where they promote misleading offers designed to attract victims and obtain money through deceptive means, according to a statement released by the Force.
The Police explained that these fake companies often publish appealing advertisements featuring significantly lower prices than those available in the market. They claim to provide fast and immediate vehicle or health insurance services through seemingly attractive deals. This prompts some individuals to proceed with payments without verifying the legitimacy or licensing of the provider.
The public is urged to confirm the credentials of any insurance company or broker before completing transactions and to avoid being misled by unrealistic offers that do not align with standard market prices.
Reaffirming their commitment to strengthening community awareness, Dubai Police noted that specialised authorities are actively monitoring such fraudulent activities and taking legal action against those responsible. However, individual awareness remains the first line of defence against cyber fraud.
