Gulf Insurance Group (GIG) has announced a net profit of KWD23.8m ($76.7m) for the first half of 2026, an increase of 89.2% or KWD11.2m, compared to the corresponding half in 2025.
Other highlights of GIG’s financial performance in 1H2026 compared to 1H2025 include:
- Insurance revenue reached KWD399.4m for the first half of 2026, an increase of 11.1% or KWD39.8m.
- Net investment income reached KWD34.8m, an increase of 23.2% or KWD6.6m
- Equity attributable to the shareholders of the parent company amounted to KWD283.9m as of 30 June 2026, an increase of 7.4% compared to 31 December 2025.
- Total assets stood at KWD1.5bn as of 30 June 2026, compared to 31 December 2025, an increase of KWD175.9m or 13.3%.
GIG is the largest insurance group in Kuwait in terms of written and retained premiums, with operations in life and non-life as well as takaful. GIG has become one of the largest insurance networks in the Middle East and North Africa, with companies in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Algeria, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Iraq, and Lebanon.
