London-headquartered BMS Group, an independent global insurance and reinsurance broker, has expanded its presence in the Turkish market with the acquisition of Istanbul-based Oria Sigorta ve Reasurans Brokerligi.
The merged entity is to continue as BMS Group Sigorta ve Reasurans Brokerligi.
This acquisition reinforces not only BMS Group’s long-term commitment to Turkiye but is a core part of its regional development as it expands further into the Middle East and beyond, and it significantly enhances its ability to deliver comprehensive, client-focused solutions across the region, according to a company statement.
Oria is owned and chaired by Mr Cenk Erden. It is an independent (re)insurance broking firm with an established strong presence in the local business environment. Since its founding in 2029, the firm has built a strong reputation in corporate insurance and employee health benefits solutions. Mr Erden and Oria’s EVP Mr Remzi Duman will join the board of BMS Turkiye.
By combining this local expertise with the global network of BMS Group, the company is now positioned to offer more comprehensive, competitive, and solution-focused services to clients and insurance partners both in Turkiye and internationally.
The acquisition continues BMS’s strategic acquisitions across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, including David Roberts & Partners (UK), Rasher (Spain), and proposed entry into the DIFC which is subject to regulatory approval.
