One of Turkey's largest insurers, Anadolu Sigorta, has introduced an innovative product that adds earthquake coverage to health insurance at a small premium. The product is the first in the insurance sector.
Under this new insurance plan, a policyholder who suffers an injury due to an earthquake will have related medical expenses covered, reported Insurance Gazette.
Anadolu Sigorta deputy general manager Erdinc Gokalp said, “Within the scope of our earthquake coverage, the intensive care expenses of our insured will be covered for up to 90 days. The homecare service, artificial limb and auxiliary medical equipment expenses related to bodily injuries caused by an earthquake will also be compensated within the policy limits.”
