27 Nov 2019

The Egyptian Society of Actuaries has begun a new era, following the election of the first woman in its history to serve as chairman since the association was established in 1999.

The new chairman is Ms Marwa Hisham Salah El-Din, who has more than 11 years of experience in insurance, both with insurers and the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority. She participated in the preparation of the financial regulator's strategy for non-banking financial activities and the development of a code of conduct for actuaries, reported Al Mal.

She is currently an actuarial and ERM consultant, and has served on the board of the actuarial society for more than two years.
