Delta Insurance has signed an agreement with the Cairo Chamber of Insurance to provide coverage for more than 120,000 traders who are members of the commerce body, in what is the largest collective insurance contract on the life and property of traders.
The cooperation protocol includes two types of insurance cover needed by traders who had no insurance coverage in the past. Delta will provide coverage such as personal accident involving the risks of death, total and partial disability, and covering the traders' shops and goods against fire and burglary, reported Al Mal News. The amount insured in each category — personal accident and fire & burglary — is EGP100,000 ($5,860) or multiples of it.
Delta beat seven other insurance companies to win the contract.
